What’s New?
Our summer market is just around the corner with the first market on Saturday June 1. We are looking forward to another great season, we can’t wait to share our vendor list for 2013. In the meantime check out the list of vendors for the 2012 market, we expect that many of our favourites will be returning and we will be featuring some new vendors. As we finalize our vendors we will be posting details and vendor highlights on our facebook page.
If you are interested in attending as a vendor, the applications will be posted in the very near future. If you are a new vendor interested in our market we have spots available – but only if you have “make, bake or grow it” products. About Our Market
The Cochrane Farmers’ Market is proud to be an Alberta Approved Farmers’ Market. The Cochrane Environmental Action Committee sponsors and operates the Cochrane Farmers’ Market at the Cochrane Ranche Historic Site. The market is run by CEAC volunteers and all proceeds from the market go to support CEAC in its efforts to make Cochrane a more environmentally aware and active community.
The market runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday, rain or shine, from the beginning of June until the end of September.
The Cochrane Ranche Historic Site is located north of Highway 1A just west of downtown. The market takes place in the parking lot of the Ranche, a site that is ringed with mature poplar trees making it the perfect place on a sunny market morning. The Town of Cochrane and the Ranche are popular destinations on Saturday mornings so we enjoy great attendance!
In 2008 the Cochrane Farmers’ Market celebrated 10 years and it marked a renewed interest in our market. We have continued to grow and each year is better than the last! We have loyal customers that visit our vendors each and every week. We’re looking forward to another year of growth in 2013, our 15th year of operation.
