It is now easy to buy an affordable, environmentally friendly barrel in Cochrane. In an effort to assist with water conservation in Cochrane and the goal of having a rain barrel in every yard,. Rain barrels are on display at the Farmers’ Market. Orders will be available for pick-up at Home Reno Heaven year round.

What You Should Know About These Barrels

These barrels are food grade plastic barrels that have been used in the food industry and would usually end up in a landfill. Our supplier collects these barrels, cleans them without chemicals and turns them into rain barrels.

Each barrel is outfitted with two spigots, one at the bottom to drain the rain water and one at the top to be used to direct overflow or to connect to a second rain barrel. The barrel top has a 4″ collection hole, screened to keep out mosquitoes and debris.

What’s Available

At the present time we offer two sizes of plastic barrels. Other sizes, as well as barrel stands and oak barrels are available on special order. Just ask!

Rain Barrel – 45 Gallon Size (order a “Regular”)

This barrel is complete with two taps, the bottom one for retrieving your water and the top tap is for overflow; attach a hose and run it to your garden or shrubs. The top has a 4″ mesh covered collection hole to keep out mosquitoes and debris. Approximate size is 3 feet high by 2 feet wide. As these are recycled barrels they are not all the same, some variation in size may occur.

Usually available in white, blue barrels may be available
